A temporary synagogue was built in Harish in 2002 by a group of pioneers who moved to the city. The synagogue was called “Reishit Tevuato” meaning in English “The First of the Harvest”.
From its establishment, the residents of Harish have benefited from the religious and charity oriented events held in the synagogue, which is only an old caravan. Recently, we were delighted to hear from the local religious council that we will soon be moving to a permanent building. One that will reflect the development of Harish from a small town to a city.
Right now, we are purchasing the furniture for the new building. We have, thank God, succeeded in finding a group of donors who are willing to donate 150,000 NIS, but only on condition that we raise another 150,000 NIS. We need you!
Each Shekel that you donate is worth two during these two weeks.
Your donation will help strengthen Torah, Judaism and charity in the development city of Harish. We need your help to donate and to spread the word about this important campaign.
Together we will make the house of God in Harish beautiful.

The Torah Centre “Reishit Tevuato” was founded in 2001, by 11 Torah families, graduates of yeshivot and yeshivot Hesder (incorporating army service), via a Ministry of Housing initiative. This was in order to save the settlement of Harish, which was then a desolate, ghost-town and turn it into a prosperous and flourishing community. This was to form the basis for the establishment of a large city full of holiness. The community of the Torah Centre operated various educational programs in Harish (such as an afternoon Talmud Torah, youth learning centre, youth groups and activities), many charity projects (loans for the needy, maternity assistance, help with baby products, etc.), various Jewish cultural activities and spread a warm and welcoming Judaism amongst the city’s residents. With G-d’s help, over the years this goal has been achieved and Harish today is a city developing at a rapid rate, attracting many young families, and blooming both physically and spiritually. The spiritual centre “Reishit Tevuato” now faces a great challenge: to be the spiritual lighthouse of the developing Harish.
The wonderful activities of the Torah Centre have taken place all these years from an old and peeling temporary structure, from which the Centre’s synagogue operates.
We have recently been informed by the Harish City Council that we will soon move into a permanent, dignified structure, one that symbolizes Harish's development from a small settlement to a city built in Israel.
We have commenced the process of purchasing furniture for the new synagogue.
